How will the Shediac Market work ?
The Shediac Market is right around the corner (opening on Sunday, July 5th from 9am to 14pm) and we are so excited about it !
It’s obvious that this year the Shediac Market will be different and we know you all have a lot of questions about how your favorite sunday summer market will work this year. We promise to answer most of them in this article !
So... get ready !
Here are some informations about how the Shediac Market will work:
- The market area will be reduced and enclosed : In line with the COVID-19 recovery plan, for the present time we will only be able to use the “circle” of the Pascal Poirier Park. Each kiosk inside the circle will be distanced by 6 feet from each other and the market area will be enclosed in order to control traffic flow and ensure everyone safety.
- One entrance & one exit : The entrance and exit of the market will be located in front of the stage and separated by a fence. Customers entering and exiting will be counted in order to respect the market capacity. We, therefore, ask you to take the reasonable time to purchase your local goodies and so yummy food to allow people waiting outside the market area to enter !
- One way traffic : The customer traffic flow will only go one way. Signages will be installed at the entrance and on the fences to indicate the traffic way and remind everyone to practise social distancing. Don’t worry ! We got all the vendors covered so you won’t miss anyone !
Wearing a mask is not mandatory to enter the Market as long as you respect social distances although we do recommended it for your own safety and the safety of others including our vendors and staff.
- Waiting areas : Some vendors at the Shediac Market have a lot of success ! To make sure that everyone gets their turn in a safe manner, waiting areas will be set all over the market. Look out for those !
- Picnic area : Unfortunately this year we won’t be able to set tents and tables in the middle of the circle where the Shediac Market food court is usually located as eating on site will not be permitted... Luckily the city of Shediac has proposed to set a Picnic Area right outside of the market (where the fountain was located), in order to allow you to eat their local goodies and enjoy the sun and some good music with your friends and family !
The situation is constantly evolving and so are we ! The organisation of the market might change as weeks goes by and COVID-19 rules get more or less flexible. We will keep you updated on the situation as soon as we have more information to share and will do our best to keep the Shediac Market as one of the 2020 summers greatest places to be !
